About Alexander

Alexander Cherny began his legal path in Israel and continued it in the United States. He earned an LL.B. from Sha’arei Mishpat – College of Legal Studies in 2007. Later he pursued graduate study and completed an LL.M. in American Legal Studies at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, finishing in 2012. Those formative years gave him grounding in both civil law training and aspects of American practice.

He entered private practice soon after earning his initial law degree. In 2010 he joined Lasri, Beki - Law Office as an associate. That position introduced him to the day-to-day demands of client representation and the routines of a small law office. In 2013 he moved to Thomas N. Toscano and Associates PLLC where he worked as an associate for several years. Those roles expanded his litigation and transactional exposure and placed him in varied casework across New York state courts.

In 2020 he established Cherny Law Office P.C. and became a partner. Building a firm brought a different set of responsibilities. He transitioned from junior associate tasks to managing files, advising clients on legal options and overseeing other attorneys and staff. Running a practice also required attention to business operations and client service practices, areas he took on as part of firm leadership.

Cherny is admitted to practice in New York. His career shows steady movement from associate roles into firm leadership. He has worked in environments that range from small law offices to a sole-practitioner firm that he leads. Those changes reflect a practical approach to professional development and practice management.

Colleagues describe him as methodical and practical in handling legal work. He approaches cases with an emphasis on clear communication and on preparing matters for each stage of the process. He has handled courtroom appearances, client counseling, and the preparation of pleadings and agreements as part of routine practice. He balances client-facing duties with the administrative tasks required to operate a law office.

He maintains his practice in New York through Cherny Law Office P.C. and handles matters for individuals and businesses in the state. His current practice centers on providing legal services to clients in New York through his firm.
