About Monica Yanna
Monica Yanna Balyasny built her legal foundation at two institutions known for practical programs. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2012. She went on to receive her J.D. from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2018.
After law school she entered private practice and within a few years took on an ownership role. Since 2020 she has been Co-Owner and Lawyer at JT Law Office. Her role combines casework, firm management and client intake. Colleagues say she balances courtroom tasks and administrative duties in a small-firm environment. The firm operates across multiple jurisdictions and that geography has shaped her day-to-day work.
Balyasny is licensed to practice in Florida, New Jersey and New York. That multi-state admission allows her to handle matters that cross state lines and to coordinate strategies for clients with interests in more than one forum. It also means routine attention to differing procedural rules and local practices. She has spent time practicing in Florida while maintaining ties to New York legal communities.
Her professional associations include membership in the Broward County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, where she has been active since 2019. That involvement has kept her connected to newer attorneys and local bar programs. She has engaged in community-oriented bar activities and appears at events where young practitioners exchange practical tips and resources.
JT Law Office maintains several physical locations. The firm lists offices in New York, Orlando and Boca Raton. Balyasny divides responsibilities among these sites as client needs require. Operating from multiple offices has pushed the firm toward flexible scheduling and remote client meetings, especially for matters that involve parties in different states.
Her approach to cases leans toward thorough preparation and direct client communication. She handles intake interviews, drafts pleadings and represents clients in hearings when matters require court presence. The firm’s size means she often manages cases from start to finish rather than handing off discrete tasks to large teams.
Outside of courtrooms and firm meetings she stays involved in local bar activities and continues to build a practice that serves clients across Florida and New York. She currently focuses on client representation through JT Law Office’s offices in New York, Orlando and Boca Raton.
