About Aaron

Aaron Guin studied political science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning his B.A. in 1993. He went on to the University of Tennessee College of Law and received his J.D. in 2000. Those academic years set the stage for an early career that moved quickly from the classroom to the courthouse.

After law school, Guin served as a judicial clerk for the Tennessee Supreme Court in 2001. The clerkship exposed him to appellate work and court procedures at the highest state level. He entered private practice the next year, joining Bullock, Fly & Hornsby in 2002. That role was followed by a position at Howell & Fisher, PLLC in 2004, where he continued to handle matters in state court.

In 2008 he became a member of Honeycutt, Guin & Hooper, PLLC. The firm carried his name and reflected a transition into a leadership role in private practice. By 2011 he had moved to Farrar & Bates, LLP as a lawyer, a firm where he remains on staff. Over the years he has worked on a range of matters that passed through both trial courts and appellate dockets.

Guin is admitted to practice in Tennessee and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He maintains membership in the Tennessee Bar Association and has been active in the Nashville legal community. Outside the office he has volunteered as a tutor for the Nashville Adult Literacy Council since 2007, helping adults develop reading and writing skills.

Colleagues describe a lawyer who understands how appellate precedence and trial strategy intersect. His early clerkship experience continues to inform the way he approaches filings, briefs and courtroom appearances. He has moved between roles that required both courtroom presence and the preparation of detailed appellate submissions.

He currently practices at Farrar & Bates, LLP, focusing on litigation and appellate work.
