About Zenas Sirius
Zenas Sirius Zelotes began his legal path at the University of Iowa, where he completed his law studies and earned his J.D. in 2000 after starting at the university in 1997. He moved quickly from the classroom to the courtroom. By 2001 he was working as a trial lawyer at Divorce Shark PLLC, gaining hands-on experience in contested family law matters.
Those early years set a practical tone. Zelotes built a practice centered on divorce and custody disputes. He has held memberships across a wide range of professional organizations that reflect both geographic reach and subject-matter interest. He is active with the Nevada Bar Association and several Connecticut local bar groups, including the Greater Bridgeport Area Bar Association and its Family Law Section. He also belongs to the Connecticut Bar Association’s Family Law Section, plus county bar associations in Middlesex, New London and Danbury. On a national level he participates in multiple American Bar Association committees related to trial practice, alimony and child custody, and he is a member of trial-focused organizations such as the Western Trial Lawyers Association.
Zelotes’ courtroom work and association memberships point to a lawyer who divides time between trial practice and family law procedure. He has experience in civil litigation settings as well; his affiliations include the Greater Bridgeport Area Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section. Colleagues describe him as someone who favors direct courtroom advocacy. He has handled contested hearings and trial preparation, and he continues to appear in state courts in jurisdictions where he is admitted.
He practices under the Zelotes Divorce & Custody name, maintaining multiple office locations. Those offices handle intake, client consultation and court preparation. His daily work often involves negotiating settlements, preparing clients for hearings and managing case logistics from initial petition through final orders. He balances the demands of trial readiness with efforts to resolve disputes when settlement offers meet client goals.
Outside of casework, Zelotes keeps current through committee work and regional bar activities. He participates in professional committees that address trial techniques, alimony and child custody issues, and he remains engaged with business and legal organizations such as the Essex Board of Trade.
He currently practices family law at Zelotes Divorce & Custody, concentrating on divorce and child custody matters.
