About Zachary
Zachary Starr built a steady legal path through Utah courts and classrooms. He combines academic training with hands-on practice. Colleagues describe him as practical and methodical in his approach.
He completed a Juris Doctor at BYU Law School in 2007 after earning a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University in 2002 and an Associate of Arts from Utah Valley State College in 2000. While in law school he worked as a family law research assistant at J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2005, a position that exposed him to statutory analysis and case-law review early in his legal education.
Starr began his post-law school career in private practice. In 2007 he joined Dexter & Dexter, Lawyers at Law, where he handled a variety of matters for local clients. That role gave him courtroom experience and regular client contact. He spent the early years after law school building litigation skills and learning firm operations from intake through trial preparation.
In 2015 he moved to Moody Brown Law. His tenure there has continued his work as a practicing attorney in Utah. Over time he has taken on responsibilities typical for small-firm practice: drafting pleadings, managing client files, and appearing in local courts. The combination of early research work and years in private practice means he brings both analytical and practical tools to client matters.
