About Yuli

Yuli Jacobson earned her law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2014 after completing a bachelor's degree in linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley in 2010. Her academic path combined a liberal arts grounding with professional legal training. The combination of linguistics and law shaped how she approaches written advocacy and client interviews.

She is licensed to practice in California and entered legal practice soon after law school. Jacobson joined Modern Family Law as an attorney, where she has worked on family law matters. Her early years as a practicing lawyer were spent building courtroom experience and advising clients on the practical steps involved in separating lives and finances.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing cases. She is attentive to details that matter in contested and uncontested matters alike. That attention shows up in pleadings, settlement discussions, and in court appearances. Clients encounter clear explanations and straightforward guidance about options and next steps.

Her background in linguistics informs how she frames complex legal issues. Plain language matters in family disputes, where emotions and legal technicalities often collide. Jacobson applies that perspective to drafting documents and counseling clients. She aims to make the process accessible and to reduce confusion about what each stage of a case entails.

At Modern Family Law she handles the typical range of family law work, including divorce, custody, support, and related post-judgment matters. She represents clients in negotiation and in court when disputes cannot be resolved by agreement. Day-to-day practice includes case management, motion practice, and client counseling.

Outside of casework she participates in the routines that keep a practice functioning: staying current on state rules, preparing for hearings, and coordinating with experts when cases require them. Her career path has been steady; she moved from classroom to courtroom and settled into a practice that reflects both legal training and an interest in helping people through transitions.

Jacobson continues to practice at Modern Family Law, handling family law matters for clients across California and focusing on practical, legally grounded solutions.
