About William Pope Langdale

William Pope Langdale III built a legal path that began in the classroom and moved steadily into courtrooms across several jurisdictions. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989, then took his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, graduating in 1992. Those academic foundations shaped his approach to practice: analytical, detail-oriented and grounded in procedure.

After law school, Langdale entered practice and has spent his career handling matters that take him into both state and federal courts. He is admitted to the bars and courts that include the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is also admitted in multiple federal trial courts, among them the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Northern District of New York and the District of Colorado.

Langdale is a partner at Pope Langdale. In that role he has managed litigation teams, prepared briefs for appellate and trial courts, and appeared for hearings. His colleagues describe him as a lawyer who attends to facts and procedure. He favors direct advocacy in court and careful preparation before entering the courtroom.

Throughout his career he has worked on matters that require navigating complex procedural and evidentiary issues. He often appears in federal and state trial courts and has experience taking cases to appellate panels. He has handled contested motions, trials and appeals. Langdale’s experience in the appeals courts reflects steady work on arguments that depend on legal research and precise briefing.

Outside the courtroom he has been involved in case strategy, client counseling and the drafting of dispositive motions. His work demands attention to statutory detail and case law, and he regularly deals with multi-jurisdictional questions that touch on both state and federal rules. He brings that background to matters that the firm accepts and assigns.

Now based at Pope Langdale, Langdale continues to practice as a partner, representing clients in matters before state and federal courts and managing litigation through trial and appeal.
