About William L Aldred

William L Aldred JR built his foundation at Middle Tennessee State University and completed his legal education at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he earned his law degree. Those years set the stage for a career that has moved between state and federal courtrooms.

After law school he entered practice in the region and gained admission to the bars of Tennessee and Kentucky, as well as the Federal Circuit. He maintains current membership in the Kentucky State Bar. Over time he concentrated on courtroom work and sought formal recognition of that experience.

He holds certifications from the National Board of Legal Specialty and Certification in both civil trial practice and criminal trial practice. Earning both credentials signals an emphasis on trial work in two different areas of law. The certifications require demonstration of trial experience and peer review, and they have shaped how he approaches case preparation and courtroom presentation.

Aldred’s practice spans civil and criminal matters. He handles cases that range from contested civil disputes to criminal defenses that proceed to trial. Admission to the Federal Circuit has also allowed him to handle matters that involve federal appellate procedure. His courtroom work includes jury trials and bench proceedings, which makes trial readiness central to how his office prepares each matter.

Clients and colleagues describe his style as methodical. He prepares documents and witnesses with attention to detail and organizes evidence to present clear themes at trial. He also spends time on the procedural aspects of litigation—motions practice, discovery strategy and appeals—so that a case is ready if it must advance beyond initial hearings.

He practices from the Aldred Law Office. The office represents clients in matters across Tennessee and Kentucky and in relevant federal courts. He continues to maintain professional affiliations and his board certifications as part of the office’s emphasis on courtroom representation.

As of 2026 he remains active in practice and continues handling civil and criminal trials, state and federal matters, from his work at the Aldred Law Office.
