About William

William Holtz built a career that links two different worlds. He studied animal behavior and the human mind before turning to the law. That combination shapes how he frames problems and prepares for court.

Holtz earned his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in 1995, completing a double major in psychology and wildlife biology. He went on to law school at the University of Denver and received his J.D. in 1998. Those years set a pattern of close observation and analytical work that has followed him into practice.

He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the Colorado Supreme Court. Those admissions allow him to bring cases in both federal and state venues. Over time he has handled filings and appearances in courts across the state and in federal district proceedings.

Holtz is affiliated with the Colorado Freedom Law Center. His work there involves litigation and court advocacy on matters that come before both state and federal tribunals. He has taken part in the development of pleadings, briefed issues for judges, and argued in hearings. His role at the center places him regularly in courtrooms and at counsel tables.

That courtroom work draws on more than legal training. His undergraduate studies in psychology inform the way he evaluates witnesses and builds narratives. The wildlife biology background helped cultivate a methodical, evidence-based habit of mind. Combined, those strands contribute to a practice that emphasizes careful fact-gathering and structured argument.

Colleagues describe him as deliberate in preparation and clear in court. He favors direct explanations over elaborate theory. Over the years Holtz has continued to practice in Colorado, remaining active in cases that proceed through the state Supreme Court and into federal district court when necessary. His current practice focuses on litigation and matters before state and federal courts.
