About William

William Henig earned his J.D. from The City University of New York School of Law. He moved into public service soon after law school, taking roles that placed him inside several New York City agencies. Those early experiences shaped the practical side of his legal work.

He worked in the Fraud Investigation Unit at the New York City Department of Homeless Services in 2005. He investigated allegations and helped assemble cases that agencies took to administrative hearings and courts. Two years later he joined the New York City Administration for Children’s Services as a child abuse prosecutor. There he handled cases involving allegations of neglect and abuse, often coordinating with social workers, medical professionals and law enforcement.

In 2009 he established The Law Office of William Henig, P.C., where he has served as chief lawyer. The firm brought together his prior investigative work and courtroom experience. He moved from government roles into private practice but kept working on issues that often touch on family safety and public-benefit systems.

Colleagues and former clients describe him as methodical and straightforward. He tends to break complex files into discrete tasks. That approach guided him through both administrative investigations and contested hearings. He also maintains professional ties to his local bar. He is a member of the Rockland County Bar Association and participates in bar activities that connect practitioners across the county.

Henig’s background in investigations and prosecution gives him familiarity with evidentiary issues and procedural rules that can be decisive in contested matters. He has experience preparing witness statements, coordinating documentary proof and arguing motions. He has handled matters that required working with multiple government agencies and navigating layered administrative processes.

He practices in New York and has built a private practice that draws on the kinds of cases he saw as a government attorney. He manages files that reflect both his time in fraud investigation and his years as a child abuse prosecutor. He maintains an office under the name William Henig, Lawyer at Law, and continues to accept matters in the region.

His current practice concentrates on cases that make use of his government experience in child welfare and investigative work.
