About William Harold
William Harold Mazur is the founder of William Mazur, Lawyer at Law, a practice he established in 2011. He set up the firm shortly after a series of clerkships and research positions that exposed him to family, disability and civil legal issues. He has practiced in both New York and Illinois.
Mazur completed his legal education at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he earned his J.D. He also attended Loyola University Chicago, earning both a B.A. in political science and a B.S. in criminal justice. Those academic credentials framed an early interest in how law interacts with vulnerable populations and dispute resolution.
Early work in his career included a research assistant role at Banner & Witcoff, LTD in 2005. He moved into more client-centered roles during law school, clerking for The Alliance for Children’s Rights in 2008 and later working as a law clerk in 2009 at the Law Offices of Cynthia A. de Petris and the Law and Mediation Offices of Garrison Klueck. In 2011 he served as a research fellow at the Disability Rights Legal Center. Those positions involved legal research, case preparation and exposure to litigation strategies as well as alternative dispute processes.
In 2011 Mazur launched his own practice. He also completed 40 Hours Divorce Mediation Training through Northwestern University’s School of Continuing Studies. That training complements his litigation and client-advocacy experience, and it informs the way he structures negotiations and settlement discussions. He maintains licensure to practice in both New York and Illinois.
Professionally, Mazur has been active in bar circles. He has been a member of the Illinois State Bar Young Lawyers Division since 2015 and has held other professional memberships since 2011. His background blends research, clerking and on-the-ground client work, and the combination has shaped the services his office provides.
Colleagues and clients who have worked with him describe a lawyer who balances investigative preparation with practical problem solving. He combines courtroom preparation with mediation training to give clients options beyond trial. He continues to run his practice in New York and Illinois, handling matters that include divorce mediation, disability rights issues and related civil legal matters.
He currently practices at William Mazur, Lawyer at Law, handling divorce mediation, disability rights and related civil matters.
