About Oliver P.

Oliver P. Shindler earned his law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2022 after completing undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University in 2019. His academic path combined a large public university undergraduate experience with a Chicago law education, giving him exposure to both Midwestern and urban legal perspectives.

He joined Seidman, Margulis & Fairman, LLP as an associate soon after law school. In that role he has taken on the everyday work that drives litigation forward: legal research, drafting motions and pleadings, managing discovery, and preparing witnesses and exhibits for hearings. Colleagues describe him as methodical in building case files and attentive to the practical steps that matter in court proceedings.

Shindler maintains active memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and The Chicago Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to trial practice developments, state-level bar initiatives, and the local legal community. He attends seminars and bar programs and uses those forums to stay current on procedural changes and case law.

Early in his career he focused on sharpening courtroom skills and on the procedural aspects of civil practice. That early work included assisting on depositions, drafting appellate briefs, and supporting trial teams in complex case calendars. He has also handled client communications on case status and next steps, aligning client expectations with the realities of litigation timetables.

At the firm he works alongside litigators who try cases and handle contested matters. He contributes to case strategy discussions and trial preparation while maintaining responsibility for research-heavy tasks that inform legal arguments. His time at the firm has been spent learning trial mechanics and the interplay between discovery, motions practice, and courtroom presentation.

Shindler lives and works in Illinois and remains engaged in organizations that focus on trial advocacy and bar governance. He combines classroom training from his J.D. program with hands-on experience gained at the firm. His current practice at Seidman, Margulis & Fairman, LLP centers on trial and litigation work in Illinois.
