About William
William Barabino built his path to the courtroom through a steady course of study and early practice. He earned a B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 1995, then completed a J.D. in Criminal Law at Massachusetts School of Law in 2003. The law degree framed the questions he would spend his career answering: how to protect rights, how to challenge evidence, how to present a client’s story clearly to a judge or jury.
Two years after finishing law school, he established the Law Office of William J. Barabino in 2005. He has run that practice since then, handling trials and hearings and representing clients across a variety of criminal matters. The office has served as a base for courtroom work in both state and federal settings.
Barabino is admitted to appear before a range of courts. His credentials include the Massachusetts bar, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the 1st Circuit, the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and authorized to appear before the U.S. Department of Defense for Military Commissions. Those admissions have allowed him to take cases beyond local trial courts and into specialized appellate and federal forums.
Training and continuing education have been part of his professional life. He completed the Summer Session Curriculum at the National College for DUI Defense. He holds memberships in several legal organizations: the Justinian Law Society of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Boston Bar Association, the First Middlesex Bar Association, and the National College for DUI Defense.
Practice work has centered on criminal defense, including DUI-related matters and other offenses that bring people into state or federal court. He has represented clients at pretrial proceedings, bench and jury trials, and appellate arguments when cases have moved beyond the trial level. His experience includes preparation for hearings before military commissions and matters that touch on veterans’ claims.
Clients and colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and deliberate in court, preferring clear, direct presentation over flash. He continues to operate the Law Office of William J. Barabino, where he handles criminal defense and related matters.
