About William Alan
William Alan Kowalenko earned his J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. He pursued legal training in a program known for its practical clinics and skills courses. After law school he moved into litigation work and built a career centered on courtroom practice and court-appointed fiduciary roles.
Kowalenko’s early career took shape in the 1990s. In 1992 he served as Litigation Manager and Partner at Cartier, Hogan, Sullivan, Bernstein & Auerbach. He then moved to Borda, Wallace & Witty, P.C., where beginning in 1995 he worked as Personal Injury Litigation Manager. Those positions placed him in the daily management of case dockets, client matters, and litigation teams. In 2002 he joined The Kowalenk Law Office, P.C. as a litigation lawyer and partner, continuing his work on contested matters and trial preparation.
He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and is also admitted to the Federal Circuit. Over the years he has taken on a number of court appointments through the State of New York, Division of Administrative Services. Those appointments include service as Guardian, Lawyer for an Alleged Incapacitated Person, Receiver, Guardian Ad Litem, Court Evaluator, and Supplemental Needs Trustee. The range of appointments reflects both litigation experience and work in fiduciary and protective roles. He has been a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers since 2009. He is also a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, a membership he has held since 2000.
Kowalenko’s background includes sustained work in personal injury litigation as well as matters that require court oversight or appointment. He has spent decades handling contested proceedings, evidentiary hearings, and the kinds of trust and guardianship matters that arise in state court practice. He practices in New York, New Jersey and before the Federal Circuit, and he continues to handle litigation and court-appointed fiduciary work at The Kowalenk Law Office, P.C.
