About Michael
Michael Levine began his academic journey at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, graduating in 1979. He continued his studies at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law and earned his juris doctor in 1983. Those years established a steady bridge from a liberal arts education into the practice of law. The sequence of degrees also set the stage for a career that would straddle New York and New Jersey.
Levine practices in both New York and New Jersey. He has held public office as mayor of the Incorporated Village of Old Field, New York, blending local civic responsibility with a longstanding legal career. Over the years he joined the ranks at Rappaport, Glass, Levine & Zullo, LLP and has been a visible presence at that firm. His municipal service and private practice have run in parallel, each informing the other in practical ways.
On the professional association front, Levine served in a leadership role with the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He was Immediate Past President of that organization for the 2014–2015 term. That post placed him in the center of conversations about trial practice, professional standards and the association’s activities across the state. Colleagues who worked with him during that period recall an emphasis on member engagement and organizational governance.
In practice, Levine handles matters that arise under New York and New Jersey law. He brings years of courtroom and office experience to client work and to the municipal duties he has performed. Cases and local government matters have occupied much of his calendar over the decades, and he continues to balance litigation and advisory work. Today he is an attorney at Rappaport, Glass, Levine & Zullo, LLP, where he represents clients and advises local officials. He focuses his practice on representing clients in matters across New York and New Jersey.
