About Will
Will Ellison is a Colorado-licensed attorney who blends business training with a law degree. He earned an MBA from Mercer University in 2010 and completed his J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law in 2014. Those degrees inform a practical approach to legal problems that often involve business or organizational issues.
Ellison began his post-law school career as an associate at LawyersWest in 2014. He moved to Flanders, Elsberg, Herber, & Dunn in 2016, where he continued to develop courtroom and transactional experience. In 2018 he founded Ellison Law and began practicing under his own firm name. The progression from associate roles to running a solo practice has given him experience in both handling client files directly and managing the business side of a law office.
Outside of his firm duties Ellison has been active in the local legal community. He holds membership in the State Bar of Colorado, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Boulder County Bar Association. Colleagues elected him to the board of the Boulder Interdisciplinary Committee in 2020, and he served as the committee’s president from 2021 to 2022. Those roles put him in regular contact with professionals across disciplines who work on community and legal initiatives.
Clients and fellow lawyers describe Ellison as methodical and practical. He takes a straightforward approach to case planning and client communication. He has handled matters both inside and outside the courtroom since opening his practice, and he balances client advocacy with the administrative demands of running a small firm. His business background shapes how he evaluates risk and organizes case strategy.
Today he practices law in Colorado through Ellison Law. He remains engaged with local bar organizations and interdisciplinary projects in the Boulder area. He focuses his current practice on advising and representing clients in Colorado.
