Wesley Buchanan took an unconventional route into law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Heidelberg College in 1999, then spent several years working in the insurance and financial services field. He returned to school and completed a J.D. at the University of Akron in 2009, moving from private-sector practice into legal work soon after.
His early career included founding Buchanan Insurance & Financial Group in 2003. Running an agency gave him experience in client counseling, regulatory matters and transactional work long before he began practicing law. Buchanan has been active in bar associations in both Ohio and California.
