About Werner
Werner Holtmeier earned both his J.D. and an LL.M. in Tax Law from Washington University School of Law, completing his legal degrees in 2013. He undertook advanced study in taxation after finishing his primary law degree. The combination of the two degrees gave him technical grounding in federal tax principles and an academic perspective on complex tax issues.
After law school he entered practice in Texas. In 2013 he joined Crady, Jewett & McCulley, LLP as an associate. That early move placed him in a firm environment where transactional and advisory work often intersects with tax planning and compliance questions.
His LL.M. signals a deliberate choice to concentrate on tax matters. That graduate training complements the practical tasks he has handled at the firm. It also informs how he approaches client problems: attention to statutory detail, careful interpretation of tax rules, and the practical mechanics of applying those rules to business and individual situations.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in research and straightforward in legal writing. He has worked on matters that require coordination between advisors, accountants, and other counsel. Those experiences reflect the kind of work that tax-trained attorneys commonly undertake in private practice in Texas.
He maintains current professional memberships and remains engaged in the legal community. That involvement keeps him connected to developments in tax law and to peers who practice in related areas. It also supports the firm’s work when issues cross into corporate or transactional territory.
Holtmeier continues to practice at Crady, Jewett & McCulley, LLP in Texas. He applies his tax law training to client matters at the firm and focuses his practice on tax-related issues and their intersection with business transactions.
