Wendy A. Mara is the managing lawyer at Mara Law, P.A., based in Ormond Beach, Florida. She leads the firm’s work in family and elder law and maintains offices in Ormond Beach, Palm Coast and Daytona Beach. The latter two locations are available by appointment.
Mara’s academic background spans liberal arts, business and law. She earned a B.A. in English from Stetson University in 1993, then completed an MBA at the University of Central Florida in 2003. She later attended Florida Coastal School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 2009.
Her early legal experience began in private practice. Mara worked as an associate at Snell Legal in 2006. The next year she joined Mara & Mara, Lawyers at Law, where she served in a managing role. In 2015 she established her current position as managing lawyer of Mara Law, P.A. Over the years she has taken on both casework and administrative responsibilities, balancing client matters with running a small firm.
Mara holds a certification in Collaborative Family Law from The Collaborative Family Law Group of Central Florida. She has applied collaborative methods in family law matters and has handled cases involving divorce, parenting plans and related financial issues. Her involvement in elder law is reflected in a leadership role at the county bar, and in practice she advises on guardianship and long-term care planning.
Professional and civic roles have been a steady part of Mara’s career. She has served on the Awards Committee of the Volusia Flagler Association for Women Lawyers since 2009. She has chaired the Elder Law Section of the Volusia County Bar Association during the same period. From 2010 to 2018 she was a board director for the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce. Community work has included a board directorship and presidency at Pace Center for Girls – Volusia/Flagler from 2011 to 2016, and a tenure as Co-Chair of the State Public Affairs Committee for the Junior League of Daytona Beach from 2015 to 2018.
Clients find Mara in her Ormond Beach office for routine matters, and at her Palm Coast and Daytona Beach locations by appointment. She handles family law and elder law matters and uses collaborative processes and traditional representation depending on the needs of each case.
