About Carol Lee

Carol Lee Peake earned her Juris Doctor from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2004. She completed her legal education in Florida and entered the profession shortly after. Her academic record placed her among a generation of lawyers who began practicing in the mid-2000s, a time of shifting court procedures and evolving family law practice in the state.

After law school, Peake joined the Law Office of C. Michael Barnette as an associate lawyer in 2004. That early role put her in the day-to-day work of a small firm, handling client intake, drafting pleadings and appearing in local hearings. The experience provided a foundation in courtroom procedure and client counseling. It also anchored her career in the communities she serves.

Peake has maintained active ties to local and state bar groups. She is a member of the Volusia County Bar Association and the Flagler County Bar Association. She also belongs to the Florida Bar Family Law Section, reflecting an ongoing engagement with the rules and issues that shape family law practice across the state. From 2009 to 2010 she served on the Board of Directors of the Volusia Flagler Association of Women Lawyers, a role that involved local programming and peer outreach.

Her professional interests include family law matters. Court filings, mediation and negotiation are regular parts of her casework. She has worked with clients on divorce-related issues, parenting plans and related financial matters. Her bar and association memberships keep her informed of legislative and procedural changes that affect those areas of law.

Colleagues and clients have encountered Peake in county courthouses and association meetings throughout Florida’s east coast. She has balanced courtroom appearances with the administrative tasks that come with small-firm practice. That mix of duties has defined much of her practice since first joining the Barnette office.

Peake remains active in the professional circles that supported her early career and continues to participate in the Florida Bar Family Law Section. She practices in Florida and concentrates on family law matters.
