About Wedad
Wedad Ibrahim built her legal foundation in Michigan. She pursued undergraduate study in political science before moving on to law school. Those early years shaped an interest in the issues that bring people into family courts.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan 6Dearborn and a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University. During law school she trained in courtroom procedure and dispute resolution. Her education included formal mediation training that later translated into a certification in domestic relations mediation under Michigan Court Rule 3.216.
After law school, Ibrahim joined Lyngklip and Associates as an associate lawyer in 2017. The firm exposed her to steady courtroom work and client counseling. She handled pleadings, discovery and the day-to-day demands of civil litigation. Those responsibilities gave her practical experience that she carried into her next role.
In 2018 she began working at Chapman Law Group. At Chapman she has continued to represent clients in matters that often involve sensitive family issues. She holds the Domestic Relations Mediator credential from Michigan State University, which allows her to serve as a neutral mediator in family disputes under MCR 3.216. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation and practical in negotiations.
Ibrahim is licensed to practice in Michigan. Her practice has included court appearances, negotiated settlements and mediated resolutions. She balances advocacy for clients with an understanding of how settlements affect families over the long term. She has been active in day-to-day case management at the firm and has worked on both litigated and negotiated matters.
Outside the courtroom she has maintained ties to the local legal community. She holds at least one professional membership. That affiliation has kept her connected to changes in state rules and local practice patterns.
