About W Kirk
W Kirk Sanders is an attorney practicing in North Carolina. He holds a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and a B.A. from North Carolina State University, both awarded in 1992. Those credentials established his path into private practice and local bar work.
After law school he built a practice that has moved through several phases. In 2010 he opened Sanders Law Office, PLLC and practiced under that banner for several years. He joined Hendrick Bryant Nerhood & Sanders LLP as a partner in 2015. In 2023 he became a partner at Kurtz Whitley Guy Sanders & Rainey, where he continues his work today.
Sanders has remained involved in bar and civic organizations across his career. He is chairman of the GP Small Firm & Solo Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, a role he holds currently. He has been a member of the NC Advocates of Justice since 2010 and participates in its Auto Torts Section. He has belonged to the Forsyth County Bar Association and the 21st Judicial District since 1995.
His community involvement extends beyond the legal profession. Sanders has been active in the Rotary Club of Winston-Salem since 2003 and served as the club’s president for 2010–2011. Those years in local civic life run alongside his professional roles and reflect a steady presence in local institutions.
Throughout his career Sanders has worked primarily in civil practice. His association memberships reflect regular work on auto-tort matters and the kinds of disputes that occupy small firms and solo practitioners. The record of partnerships and his firm affiliations trace a path from solo practitioner to partner in established local firms.
He is admitted to practice in North Carolina and continues to handle litigation and related matters at Kurtz Whitley Guy Sanders & Rainey. His current practice includes auto-tort and civil litigation matters.
