About Vince F.

Vince F. Sykes began his professional path in engineering before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1990. He later studied law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and also completed graduate business studies at Pepperdine University, adding a business perspective to his technical training.

After completing his legal education, he moved into private practice and, in 2011, established Sykes Law Office. He serves there as founder and partner. Over the years he has built a practice that draws on his varied academic background and on admissions to several federal and state tribunals.

He is admitted to practice in New York and holds admissions to federal benches, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. Court of International Trade. He is a current member of the New York State Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association. These memberships have kept him connected to developments in federal procedure, appellate practice and court-specific rules.

Sykes’s training in electrical engineering and business informs how he approaches cases that involve technical or commercial issues. He handles matters that require attention to both legal detail and technical fact, and he has experience presenting arguments before appellate tribunals and federal courts. His admissions to the Court of International Trade and the Second Circuit reflect work that crosses trial and appellate levels.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical and focused on legal clarity. He tends to take a measured view of complex factual records and to emphasize procedural precision when litigating in federal courts and on appeal. That approach aligns with the procedural demands of appellate advocacy and with the evidentiary scrutiny often present in trade and technical disputes.

At Sykes Law Office, PC, he continues to manage a caseload that draws on his engineering and business education as well as his courtroom experience. He maintains an active practice in New York and in federal forums, including appellate cases and matters before the U.S. Court of International Trade. His current practice centers on federal and appellate litigation, including cases before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the Second Circuit, while maintaining an active New York practice.
