About Victoria
Victoria Carlton graduated from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2016, the same year she completed a Master of Public Administration at Brigham Young University. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Utah Valley State College in 2012. That sequence — undergraduate study followed by concurrent graduate and law degrees — shaped the early arc of her legal training and public service interests.
Her early professional years combined courtroom exposure and heavy research. In 2017 she served as a Legal Research and Writing Fellow for the Federal Public Defender in the Western District of Texas. The following year she clerked for the Utah Courts in the Second Judicial District. Those roles put her on both sides of case preparation: drafting persuasive memoranda and observing judicial decision-making up close.
Carlton has remained engaged in the local legal community. In 2021 she became Legal Developments Editor for the Utah Bar Journal. That same year she took on leadership roles as Southern Utah Liaison for the Young Lawyers Division and as Vice-Chair of the Women’s Influence Network. She joined the board of the Red Rock Center for Independence in 2021, and she has been a member of Women Lawyers of Utah since 2012. Her association work spans editorial projects, bar governance and nonprofit oversight.
Her resume shows steady movement between practice, court service and professional service. The mix of federal defender experience and state-court clerkship informs the kinds of matters she handles and the way she approaches legal writing. Colleagues describe her work as precise and methodical; she has frequently been the point person on research-intensive projects and on submissions that require careful citation and fact development.
Carlton practices in Utah at Bangerter Frazier Group. Her current work emphasizes litigation-related tasks: preparing briefs, conducting legal research and supporting trial and appellate work. She remains active in bar publications and community organizations while carrying an active caseload at the firm.
