About Victor J. Suane
Victor J. Suane Jr. earned his undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in 1998 and returned to his home state to complete a law degree at Southern University Law Center in 2007. The arc from liberal arts to law school set a steady tempo for a career that combines courtroom work, firm leadership and community service.
After law school, Suane built a practice in Louisiana that reaches beyond the state courts. He is admitted in Louisiana and in several federal forums, including the United States District Courts for the Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana and the Fifth Circuit. Those admissions reflect steady engagement with litigation and procedural work across multiple jurisdictions.
Suane is a partner at Kean Miller LLP. At the firm he handles matters that take him into both state and federal courts. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and deliberate in preparing cases. He has been a visible presence in firm projects and in community initiatives that draw on Kean Miller’s resources.
Professional organizations have been a recurring part of his calendar. He holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar and the Baton Rouge Bar Association. Within the local bar he chairs the Belly Up With the Bar Committee, a role that brings together lawyers for a mix of social and charitable work.
Outside the office, Suane has held leadership roles on nonprofit boards. He serves on the board of Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge and is president of the board of the Louisiana School for the Deaf Foundation. He has volunteered on school literacy nights and on community events organized by the Baton Rouge Bar Association, including an Easter egg hunt. Since 2007 he has also co-captained a Kean Miller team for Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area’s Walk to Remember.
His volunteer track includes pro bono and firm-led projects such as the Kean Miller Dictionary Project, which places dictionaries in elementary classrooms, and other outreach efforts that link legal professionals with community needs. Those activities have become a consistent thread alongside his legal work.
In day-to-day practice Suane combines courtroom responsibilities with client counseling and firm service. He is based at Kean Miller LLP and continues to represent clients in state and federal matters. His current practice centers on representing clients in state and federal courts from his position at Kean Miller LLP.
