About Tyler

After earning a B.S. in Political Science and Government from Arizona State University in 2003, Tyler Steele returned to law study and received his J.D. from Arizona Summit Law School in 2012. His legal education spans the two major institutions that shape many Arizona lawyers: a public research university for undergraduate study and a local law school that emphasizes practice in the state’s courts. The combination gave him classroom grounding in government and later training in the procedural and substantive law used every day in Arizona practice.

Steele is admitted to the Arizona bar and maintains current membership in the Arizona State Bar. He serves as an associate lawyer at Matthew Lopez Law, where he joined the firm after completing his legal education. In that role he has taken on matters typical of an associate: preparing filings, conducting legal research, meeting with clients, and supporting litigation and transactional work handled by the firm’s more senior lawyers.

Colleagues describe Steele as methodical in his preparation and steady under pressure. He spends much of his time drafting pleadings and memoranda, compiling evidence, and helping to prepare witnesses for hearings. He also appears in court on behalf of clients when cases call for an associate’s involvement. Those tasks require attention to detail and an ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical steps for clients and for the courtroom.

Outside of the office, Steele maintains his standing through the Arizona State Bar. That membership keeps him connected to the regulatory and professional framework for practice in the state, and it provides access to continuing legal education and networking opportunities that many Arizona attorneys rely on to stay current with changes in law and procedure.

Steele’s background in political science informs the way he approaches legal problems. He looks for the rules and the institutions that shape outcomes. That perspective is useful whether the work is research-heavy or involves negotiation and advocacy. He has built a practice that balances client communication, document work, and the occasional court appearance, depending on the needs of each matter.

He currently represents clients in Arizona as an associate at Matthew Lopez Law, PLLC.
