About Tyler
Tyler Lee earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2006 after completing a B.A. at the University of South Carolina — Columbia in 2003. He moved into the legal profession quickly, taking a judicial law clerk role with the South Carolina Judicial Department the same year he graduated. The early exposure to court procedures and written opinion work shaped his approach to case preparation and legal writing.
In 2007 he served as an Assistant Lawyer General in the South Carolina Lawyer General’s Office. That role put him on the other side of litigation, representing state interests and handling a range of administrative and courtroom matters. The experience broadened his perspective on how public and private legal work intersect in state courts.
Lee joined McWhirter, Bellinger and Associates, P.A. in 2008. He worked there as a lawyer for several years and became a shareholder in 2017. During his time at the firm he handled cases that required both trial work and demands for detailed discovery. Colleagues recall his persistence in pursuing factual development and his steady courtroom demeanor.
In 2019 he established Lee Injury Law, LLC. The move shifted him from a partnership role at a larger firm to running a smaller practice under his own name. That change required managing both client matters and the day-to-day business of a law office. It also allowed him to shape the firm’s client intake and litigation strategies more directly.
He is licensed to practice in South Carolina and before the Federal Circuit. He maintains current membership in the South Carolina Bar. Those qualifications let him handle matters in state courts and pursue appeals or federal claims when federal jurisdiction is involved.
Over the years Lee’s work has balanced courtroom appearances, motion practice and negotiation. He has experience guiding cases through trial and handling post-trial steps when necessary. He now practices through Lee Injury Law, LLC and focuses his current work on personal injury matters and related litigation in South Carolina and federal venues.
