About Tyler J.

Tyler J. White earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2016 after completing a B.S. in Criminal Justice at Central Missouri State University in 2013. His law school studies included coursework related to DWI and DUI practice, building on the criminal justice foundation he developed as an undergraduate.

Early in his legal training White spent time inside two very different parts of Missouri’s justice system. He interned for the Honorable Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd in the 10th Judicial Circuit Court, where he observed courtroom procedure and the day-to-day workings of a trial court. He also served as an intern for Ronna Holloman-Hughes at the Office of the Public Defender for the Western District of Missouri, gaining exposure to defense case preparation and client advocacy in a public defender’s office.

After law school, White moved into trial work. He now practices as a trial lawyer under the name Tyler J. White, Lawyer & Counselor at Law, LLC. The transition to private practice followed the kinds of hands-on experiences he had as an intern: drafting motions, preparing witnesses, and standing in court. He has continued to focus on criminal defense and DUI-related matters in Missouri courts.

Professional associations have been a steady part of his career. Since 2017 he has been a member of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also holds memberships in the National College for DUI Defense, the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, all beginning in 2017. These memberships reflect ongoing engagement with colleagues who practice in similar areas of criminal and DUI defense.

White also serves as an Ambassador for the State of Missouri for the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. The title connects him to an organization that centers on DUI law and defense strategies. It aligns with his background and the types of cases he handles at trial.

Licensed to practice in Missouri, White presents himself as a courtroom lawyer who draws on experience from both the bench and the public defender’s office. He represents clients in criminal and DUI matters and continues to handle trial work through his firm. His current practice focuses on criminal defense and DUI/DWI cases in Missouri.
