About Trista
Trista McElhaney built her legal foundation in Colorado courts and offices. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and English from the University of Denver in 2008 and completed her J.D. at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2012. Those degrees set the stage for a steady climb through private practice.
She began her career in 2012 as an associate at Bloch & Chapleau. Early work there involved the day-to-day tasks junior attorneys encounter: drafting motions, preparing discovery, and advising clients under supervision. After three years she moved to Burnham Law, PC, where she became a senior associate in 2015 and took on larger case responsibilities and more direct client work.
By 2018 McElhaney had stepped into a senior managing associate role at The Bagley Law Office, LLC. That position required oversight of case teams and practical courtroom experience. Two years later she joined Pomper Price, LLC as a partner, a role that broadened her leadership duties and practice management responsibilities.
In 2022 she launched Price Family Law, LLC and became its owner. The firm name reflects the central area of practice she has pursued over the last decade. At Price Family Law she manages files, advises clients on family-related disputes, and coordinates the firm’s approach to settlement and courtroom strategy.
Outside the office McElhaney participates in the local legal community. She has been a member of the Boulder County Bar Association since 2012 and joined the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado in 2010. She is licensed to practice in Colorado and has spent her professional life working in the state’s legal environment.
Her career shows steady progression from associate roles to practice owner, a path marked by increasing responsibility for case direction and client counseling. She now leads Price Family Law, LLC and handles family law matters, including divorce and custody-related issues.
