About Trey

Trey Lindley began his academic journey at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He started undergraduate studies in 1995 and earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science in 1999. He returned to Chapel Hill for law school in 2000 and received his J.D. in 2003. Those years framed a steady progression from liberal arts study to professional legal training.

After law school, Lindley established a practice anchored in courtroom work and appellate matters. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina, before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions allow him to represent clients at multiple levels of the judicial system.

His career includes firm leadership. In 2024 he served as a managing member at Lord & Lindley. That role placed him in day-to-day oversight while he continued to handle cases. Colleagues describe him as methodical in managing case files and firm operations.

Lindley moved on to his own practice, operating under Lindley Law, PLLC. The office listing for Lindley Law, PLLC appears among his current professional details. He has maintained a practice that spans trial work and appeals, drawing on his multi-tiered admissions to pursue matters through state and federal courts.

Clients and fellow lawyers note his facility with appellate procedure and briefing. He prepares written arguments for higher courts and handles oral argument when cases advance. Those tasks tap into the skills developed during his years at UNC and his subsequent courtroom experience.

He currently practices at Lindley Law, PLLC, handling matters in North Carolina and federal courts, including appellate work before the Fourth Circuit and representation on matters that can reach the U.S. Supreme Court.
