About Tom
Tom Rich built his path to law on an earlier foundation in engineering. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Mississippi in 2002. He returned to the same campus for law school and completed his J.D. in 2009.
After earning his law degree, Rich opened the Law Office of Tom Rich in 2009. He handled matters in state and federal settings and established practical experience early on. The small office allowed him to manage files from intake through resolution and to develop courtroom experience in Mississippi and Tennessee.
In 2014 he became a partner at Savant & Rich, LLC. As a partner he took on a broader range of responsibilities, overseeing litigation and the practice’s daily operations while continuing to appear in court. His role expanded again as the firm grew and began handling cases that required coordination across state lines and occasional appellate work.
Rich is admitted to the bars of Mississippi and Tennessee, both since 2009. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He maintains memberships in the Mississippi State Bar, the Tennessee State Bar, and the Madison County Bar Association. Those memberships reflect a practice that spans local trial matters and federal appellate work.
His background in civil engineering informs his approach to legal problems. It gives him a practical sense for technical records, contract terms and project timelines. He applies that perspective when reviewing evidence, taking depositions and preparing clients for trial or settlement discussions.
Colleagues describe him as methodical. He tends to break large problems into discrete tasks and to pursue resolution step by step. Clients encounter a lawyer comfortable in the courtroom and in written advocacy. Peers in both Mississippi and Tennessee turn to him for cases that touch on cross-border procedure or require coordination in multiple forums.
Rich practices from the Savant & Rich, LLC offices and continues to handle matters across Mississippi and Tennessee as well as appeals before the Fifth Circuit. His current work centers on litigation and appellate matters in those jurisdictions.
