About Arthur
Arthur Calderon entered law school after earning a psychology degree from Mississippi State University in 2003. He completed his Juris Doctor at Mississippi College School of Law in 2011. Early roles during and immediately after law school included an adjunct professor position at Mississippi College School of Law and work as a staff lawyer at Mission First Legal Aid Office in 2011, experiences that gave him exposure to both classroom instruction and public interest practice.
His early post-graduate years were shaped by a mix of public-sector and private practice roles. In 2014 he served as a law clerk for the 11th Judicial District of the State of Mississippi. The following year he joined Carr & Calderon, LLC as a partner. In 2016 he took on municipal legal roles, acting as city lawyer for the City of Shelby and town lawyer for the Town of Alligator, both in Mississippi. In 2017 he founded Calderon Law, where he has led the firm since its creation.
Calderon is licensed in Mississippi and admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has been active in bar and professional organizations for many years. He has been a member of the Mississippi Bar since 2008, and of the American Bar Association since that same year. Since 2019 he has served on the Board of Bar Commissioners for the Mississippi Bar Association. His professional memberships also include the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Mississippi Association for Justice.
Other associations reflect a range of practice interests. He is part of the Mississippi Bar’s Real Property Section and the Defense Research Institute. He also holds a board position with the Mississippi Association of Drug Court Professionals. Those memberships indicate familiarity with areas of criminal defense, civil litigation and issues tied to municipal and real property law.
Colleagues and clients have seen his practice evolve from legal aid and courthouse work to municipal representation and private practice leadership. His courtroom experience from clerking to appellate admission pairs with municipal advising and a steady practice in litigation. He has balanced local government counsel work with running his own firm.
He currently leads Calderon Law and maintains memberships in multiple state and national organizations. He practices in Mississippi and before the Fifth Circuit and handles matters that include criminal defense, civil litigation, municipal law, and real property issues.
