About Todd H Crawford

Todd H Crawford Jr earned his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1997. He entered practice soon after, building a career rooted in Maine’s criminal justice system. He established a private practice and has worked in both state and federal courts across the region.

Early in his career he joined the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a membership he has maintained since 1999. That association ties him to the network of defense attorneys in the state and to ongoing education about criminal procedure, evidentiary developments, and trial practice. His years in practice have kept him close to the practical demands of defending people charged with crimes and answering the procedural questions that arise in courtrooms.

Crawford is admitted to practice in Maine and in several federal venues. His federal admissions include the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Maine. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in both state-level prosecutions and in federal matters that touch on constitutional or statutory issues arising under federal law.

In 2019 he added memberships in organizations connected to treatment and recovery courts. He is a member of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals and the New England Association of Treatment & Recovery Court Professionals. Those memberships reflect involvement with alternatives to incarceration and with practitioners who design and run specialized court programs that pair supervision with treatment for people with substance use disorders.

Throughout his career Crawford has run his own practice, operating under the name Law Office of Todd H Crawford, Jr., P.A. The office handles criminal defense matters across a range of charges and stages of proceedings. He represents clients at hearings, in plea negotiations, and in contested matters that proceed to trial or other resolution. His practice also engages with the procedural work that accompanies criminal cases in both state and federal systems.

Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney who has spent decades working inside Maine’s legal community. He remains an active member of professional groups that shape criminal defense practice and the development of treatment court models in New England. His current practice continues at the Law Office of Todd H Crawford, Jr., P.A., where he represents clients in state and federal criminal matters.
