About Tina M
Tina M James built a legal foundation at Rutgers. She earned a B.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies from Rutgers University in 2001 and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Camden in 2006. Those years set a steady course for a career that has moved between courts, classrooms and a private practice.
Her early post-law school work included service as a mediator for the Superior Court of New Jersey in 2007. She then spent time clerking on the appellate side of the New Jersey courts in 2010. The clerkship exposed her to the mechanics of appellate briefing and opinion drafting. In 2011 she joined Quarles & Brady as an associate, gaining experience in a larger firm setting.
In 2012 she took a turn into legal education as an adjunct professor in Hodges University’s Legal Studies Department. The role kept her connected to students and to the practical skills of lawyering. A few years later she returned to private practice, forming the Law Office of Tina M. James as a lawyer and shareholder in 2016.
She has alternated between solo practice and firm roles since then. In 2019 she worked at Hinkle Prior and Fischer. In 2021 she launched Tina James Law and later listed her main office as Tina James Law PA. Throughout, she maintained bar memberships in both New Jersey and Florida and participated in local and regional bar groups, including the Middlesex County Bar Association and the Tri-State Diversity Council.
James’s resume reflects a mix of courtroom, appellate and dispute-resolution work. Her mediation stint, clerkship on the appellate court, and years handling matters in law firms and her own office mean she has experience in litigation strategy, appellate procedure and alternative dispute resolution. She has also taught entry-level legal studies, bringing an educator’s clarity to case preparation and client explanations.
Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She moves from legal principle to practical next steps without a lot of fanfare. She is active in both the New Jersey and Florida bars and remains involved in regional bar activities. She currently practices from Tina James Law PA, handling litigation, appeals and mediation matters.
