About Tina M

Tina M Barberi built a career that moves between courtrooms and classrooms. She earned a B.S. in Criminology from California State University, Fresno in 1992 and completed her J.D. at California Western School of Law in 2000.

Her early experience began while she was still a student. In 1993 she interned at the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office, gaining front-line exposure to criminal defense work. After law school she took on a law clerk position in 2000 at Forrest, Henderson, Sloan & Davis, and completed an internship the same year with the Law Office of Patience Milrod. Those roles gave her practical insight into litigation and case preparation during the formative stage of her legal career.

In 2001 she worked as an independent contractor for Richard Ciummo & Associates. That period involved handling assigned matters for a small firm practice and provided more responsibility for case management and client contact. Nearly a decade later she returned to academia for a time. In 2010 she served as a visiting instructor in the Criminology Department at California State University, Fresno, teaching and mentoring students while maintaining her ties to practice.

Her professional record includes admission to practice before the Ninth Circuit, reflecting federal appellate standing alongside her other qualifications. The sequence of internships, clerking, contract work and teaching sketches a lawyer comfortable with both the procedural demands of litigation and the intellectual work of explaining law to students and colleagues.

Colleagues describe Barberi as steady and pragmatic in litigation settings. She has handled matters at different stages of the legal process, from intake and investigation to courtroom filings. Her time in public defender offices and small firm environments exposed her to a range of client needs and case types, and she has moved between roles that required both independent judgment and collaborative lawyering.

Barberi maintains a practice through the Law Offices of Tina M. Barberi, PC. She continues to accept matters and represents clients under her firm’s name, and she is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit.
