About Timothy J
Timothy J Erasmi earned a B.S. in Philosophy from Suffolk University in 2015 and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2018. He arrived at law school after an undergraduate course of study that emphasized critical thinking and close reading. Those skills would prove useful in both trial preparation and written work later in his career.
Early in his legal training he worked in the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor at the Department of Homeland Security in 2016. That placement exposed him to immigration enforcement and administrative procedure at a federal level. After law school he joined Boyd & Boyd, P.C. in 2019 as an associate attorney. The role involved litigation support, legal research and client counseling across civil matters.
By 2021 Erasmi had shifted toward private practice. He opened a solo practice called Virtual Estate Lawyer, an effort to provide estate planning and probate services through a primarily online platform. He also took on an of-counsel role at John Mackey, P.C. that same year. The of-counsel position has allowed him to remain involved in collaborative matters while maintaining an independent practice.
Erasmi is admitted to the bar in Massachusetts and holds practice privileges before the United States Tax Court and the Federal Circuit. That mix of admissions reflects work spanning state law, federal tax issues and appellate procedure. His background in administrative work at DHS, combined with litigation experience, informs how he approaches regulatory questions and contested matters.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in court filings and attentive in client meetings. He has handled matters that require careful drafting of trusts and wills, probate administration and some tax-related estate planning issues. The Virtual Estate Lawyer model was developed to streamline document delivery and reduce scheduling friction for clients who need estate planning but prefer remote access.
Erasmi maintains professional memberships and participates in networks that connect estate planners, probate attorneys and peers in related fields. He balances casework with managing a virtual platform, which requires both legal judgment and practice management. He continues to accept clients through his Virtual Estate Lawyer practice and provides counsel on estate planning, probate administration and related tax concerns.
