About Timothy G.
Timothy G. Lenahan graduated from the University of Scranton with a B.S. in 1978 and earned his J.D. from St. Mary s University School of Law in 1980. He completed his formal legal education at a time when litigation practice was changing, and he soon moved into active practice in Pennsylvania.
Early in his career Lenahan built experience in courtroom litigation and federal practice. Over the years he has argued matters in state courts and in the federal system, and he is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
He is the managing partner of Lenahan & Dempsey P.C. In that role he supervises case strategy, client intake and trial preparation. He oversees other lawyers and support staff while maintaining an active caseload. His practice has long had a trial emphasis, and he remains involved in jury trials and contested hearings.
Lenahan holds two certifications from the National Board of Trial Advocacy: Certified Civil Trial Advocate and Certified Civil Pretrial Advocate. Those credentials reflect additional testing and peer review specific to litigation and trial work. He has used those credentials in the presentation and preparation of complex civil cases.
He belongs to a number of professional organizations. His memberships include the Pennsylvania State Bar, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Lackawanna County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of trial lawyer groups such as the Association of Trial Lawyers, the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. Locally, he serves on the board of directors of Lackawanna Pro Bono, Inc., and he is a member of the Committee for Justice for All.
Colleagues describe him as experienced in courtroom procedure and trial advocacy, and peers have worked with him on bar-related activities and pro bono initiatives. He continues to appear in both state and federal court, handling pretrial motions, discovery disputes and jury trials.
He currently concentrates his practice on civil litigation, handling trials and pretrial matters in Pennsylvania and in federal courts.
