About Timothy
Timothy Doman took a steady path into the law. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan–Dearborn in 2009 and completed his J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 2013. Those years gave him the academic grounding he would carry into public service and private practice.
Fresh out of law school, he worked at the Michigan Court of Appeals in 2013 as a pre-hearing lawyer. The role placed him inside the appellate process at an early stage in his career. He gained exposure to appellate procedures and the mechanics of how cases move through higher courts.
In 2016 he joined Grabel & Associates as a lawyer. The move shifted his work from the appellate side to advocacy in trial and pretrial settings. At the firm he has taken on criminal matters, including impaired driving cases, and has handled hearings and court appearances on behalf of clients.
Doman maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan, and the Michigan Association of OWI Lawyers. Those affiliations connect him to peers who focus on criminal defense and driving-under-the-influence matters and provide continuing education opportunities.
His practical experience covers routine courtroom appearances and the preparation that precedes them. He represents clients at arraignments, pretrial conferences and administrative proceedings. In many cases he negotiates resolutions, and in others he prepares for contested hearings or trials. He has worked on matters that require attention to procedural detail as well as strategic decisions about plea offers or motions.
Colleagues describe him as steady in court and attentive to casework. He balances time in court with paperwork and client interview time, attempting to align expectations with realistic outcomes. He works from Grabel & Associates, where he handles criminal defense and OWI cases and represents clients throughout Michigan.
