About Thomas

Thomas Wyckoff built a varied legal and business career that bridges law, management and executive education. He began his academic journey at Trinity College, earning a B.A. in psychology in 1984. He went on to law school at Albany Law School, completing his J.D. in 1991. After entering legal practice he returned to business studies, completing executive programs at Wharton in finance and marketing in 1997 and at Harvard Business School in negotiation in 2002.

After law school, Wyckoff joined Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP as a corporate associate in 1991. He worked on transactional matters and corporate representation early in his career. Those years in private practice provided a foundation in commercial deals and corporate governance.

In 1995 he moved in-house to Artistic Direct/Artistic Greetings. He started as general counsel and later took on broader responsibilities, ultimately serving as CEO. In that role he oversaw legal operations and business decision-making. The move from counsel to chief executive gave him experience on both sides of the corporate table: legal risk management and strategic leadership.

In 2001 he became managing partner of Wyckoff General Counsels. The firm operates out of multiple offices, including Manhattan, Washington, D.C., and Connecticut. As managing partner he coordinates client work across jurisdictions and manages a team that provides in-house style legal services to businesses. His practice is informed by years in private practice and corporate leadership. He handles matters that range from contract work to governance issues and regulatory compliance.

Wyckoff is licensed to practice in New York and Connecticut. His professional training in negotiation and executive finance complements his legal background. He combines transactional experience from his early law firm years with the practical perspective gained while running a company. That blend shapes how he advises clients: pragmatic, transaction-aware, and attentive to business consequences.

Colleagues and clients often note his ability to move between legal detail and business strategy without sacrificing either. He has worked on matters that require both precise legal analysis and practical implementation. His executive education at Wharton and Harvard Business School informs how he approaches complex negotiations and corporate decisions.

He maintains an active practice through Wyckoff General Counsels, representing businesses at the intersection of law and management. He currently serves clients across his offices in New York, Connecticut and Washington, D.C., handling corporate legal matters and counsel to business leaders.
