About Thomas
Thomas Wolinetz built his legal foundation at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He went on to study law at Hofstra University, receiving his Juris Doctor. Those classrooms shaped his approach to evidence and procedure. They also set the stage for a practice that spans state and federal courts.
He is a partner at Weltz Law. In that role he has primary responsibility for managing matters through filing, discovery and trial when needed. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and practical in courtroom settings. His partnership involves supervising other lawyers and coordinating filings across multiple jurisdictions.
Wolinetz is admitted to practice in several states and federal courts. His state admissions include New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida. On the federal side he is admitted in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of Florida. Those credentials allow him to appear in both trial courts and many regional federal venues.
Over the years he has handled matters that require navigating both state and federal procedures. He spends much of his time drafting pleadings, managing discovery, arguing pretrial motions and appearing for hearings.
