About Thomas Sean

Thomas Sean McQuillan built a layered legal education that spans state law and federal tax. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Montana in 2015, followed by a J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2018. He later completed an LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Washington in 2020. Those degrees supply a mix of courtroom preparation and technical tax training.

He began his professional practice soon after law school. In 2020 he worked as an associate lawyer at the Alaska Immigration Law Center. That same year he took on contract work for Woelber & Associates, P.C. In 2022 he formed McQuillan & Hohman Law, LLC and began practicing under the name Alaska Immigration Law Center as owner and lawyer. The sequence shows a shift from roles inside established practices to founding his own office.

McQuillan is licensed to practice in Alaska and Montana. His combination of a Montana law degree and an LL.M. in taxation gives him capabilities that reach beyond routine filings. Tax training can be useful in immigration contexts that involve business visas, investor matters, or other cases where financial documentation and tax consequences matter. He also draws on day-to-day immigration practice developed during his years in Alaskan firms.

Colleagues describe him as a professional who handles both client intake and the detailed paperwork that often decides case outcomes. He has experience in the typical workflow of immigration practices: preparing petitions, compiling supporting evidence, and communicating with federal agencies. That practical experience underlies his current work and informs how the office organizes cases and client communications.

His move to establish McQuillan & Hohman Law, LLC marked a point where he took managerial responsibilities while continuing active client representation. Running a small firm requires attention to procedure and to deadlines, as well as managing filings across different jurisdictions. He has combined those administrative duties with direct case work since 2022.

Outside of the office his training in taxation remains a distinct element of his background. It is part of his professional toolkit and shapes how he assesses cases that intersect with financial documentation. He practices immigration law through McQuillan & Hohman Law, LLC, doing work under the name Alaska Immigration Law Center and serving clients in matters that involve immigration and related financial considerations.
