About Thomas R.

Thomas R. Goree built his academic foundation at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned a B.S. in Business Management. He went on to study law at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, completing his J.D. before entering practice. His schooling combined business training and legal education, and it shaped the practical approach he brought to matters in court.

He is admitted to practice before the Alabama Supreme Court and to the Alabama bar. Those admissions reflect a practice that spans trial work and appellate proceedings within the state. He maintains an active membership in the Alabama Bar Association, a sign he remains engaged with the bar community and current developments in state law.

Goree practices with Farris, Riley & Pitt, L.L.P. The firm has been the platform for his work in Alabama courts. There are no public records here of earlier stops or different firm affiliations, so his name is most often associated with that office. At the firm he has handled matters that require courtroom experience and an understanding of procedural rules at both trial and appellate levels.

Colleagues describe his style as matter-of-fact and procedural. He favors clear briefing and direct argument. He prepares cases for hearing and appeals with attention to issue preservation and record development. That approach reflects his legal training and a practical view of litigation: concentrate on the record, present concise argument, and respect the norms of the court.

Outside court filings and hearings, Goree participates in professional exchange through the Alabama Bar Association. He stays current on rule changes, case law, and bar initiatives. His work keeps him rooted in Alabama practice; he is known among peers as a reliable presence in matters that require handling at both trial and appellate stages.

He lives and works in Alabama and continues to represent clients in matters brought in the state’s trial courts and before the Alabama Supreme Court. He currently represents clients in state and appellate courts in Alabama.
