About Thomas P.
Thomas P. Parrino built a legal foundation in Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1983 with a B.A. in English. He went on to earn his J.D. in 1987, attending both Quinnipiac University School of Law and the University of Bridgeport during his legal studies.
He has spent his career practicing in Connecticut courts. He is admitted to the Connecticut bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. He is a partner at Parrino|Shattuck, PC, where he has been a member of the leadership team responsible for managing client work and firm matters.
Parrino’s professional affiliations reflect a sustained engagement with family and matrimonial law organizations. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers and a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. Within the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), he has held several leadership roles: former president of the Connecticut chapter, former chair of the National Admissions Committee, and a delegate to the AAML National Board of Governors. He has also served on the National Board’s Test Subcommittee. At the state level he has chaired examining, arbitration and rules committees and currently chairs the Connecticut chapter’s Amicus Committee.
Beyond those roles, he participates in several bar organizations, including the Fairfield County Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Connecticut Family Law Commission, a state-level body that addresses matters of family law procedure and practice.
Those leadership posts speak to a practice engaged in the procedural and substantive dimensions of family law. He has taken on responsibilities that include overseeing examining procedures and arbitration processes, and he has led amicus efforts for his chapter. Membership in national trial and international family law organizations suggests regular exposure to contested cases and cross-border issues, reflected in the kinds of matters his firm accepts.
Colleagues and peers have relied on him for committee work and for handling complex family law matters. At Parrino|Shattuck, PC he continues to work on matrimonial and family law cases, including contested divorces, custody disputes, arbitration matters and amicus-related work in appellate or policy settings.
He currently practices matrimonial and family law at Parrino|Shattuck, PC, concentrating on contested divorces, custody matters, arbitration and related procedural work.
