About Thomas J. Maronick
Thomas J. Maronick Jr arrived at the courtroom by way of a microphone and a stage. He earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000 and later completed his J.D. at the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2006. Those two degrees shape the way he tells a client's story and how he presents it to a judge or jury.
After law school he worked in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City as a deputy clerk to Judge J. Prevas. In 2008 he launched his own practice, founding The Law Offices of Thomas Maronick Jr LLC. That move put him in private practice quickly after his time on the bench side of the courthouse.
Before and alongside his legal pursuits Maronick maintained an active career in media and performance. In 2000 he worked as a producer at 630 WMAL. He was the owner and host of The Tom Moore Show in 2003 and that same year performed as an actor and voiceover artist under the name Tom Moore with SAG-AFTRA. In 2007 he recorded and performed as a singer with The Tom Moore Band. Those years in radio, television and music sharpened his communication skills and familiarized him with public performance long before he took the oath to practice law.
He is licensed in Maryland and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in both state and federal forums.
Maronick participates in several bar and professional organizations. He holds memberships in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Maryland Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National College of DUI Defense. He is also a member of the District of Columbia Trial Lawyers Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Bar Association of Baltimore City, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, the Harford County Bar Association and the Maryland Association for Justice. These affiliations reflect his practice areas and connect him with peers across Maryland and the broader defense bar.
Since founding The Law Offices of Thomas Maronick Jr LLC in 2008 he has run a practice that regularly handles criminal and DUI matters, representing clients in trial and appellate proceedings. He concentrates his current practice on criminal defense and DUI defense in Maryland and federal courts.
