About Patricia

Patricia Stephenson built a path to law that began at Duke University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and art in 1979. She continued her studies at Wayne State University Law School and received her J.D. in 1985. Those academic years set the foundation for a long career practicing under Maryland law.

After law school, she entered the legal profession and established herself in Maryland. Over the decades she has handled matters that require careful attention to state statutes and procedure. Her work has included client counseling, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in administrative and court settings when disputes arise.

Her undergraduate background in political science and art informs a practical approach to problem solving. The political science training supports analysis of regulatory and governmental issues. The study of art encourages attention to detail and an eye for how separate elements fit together in a larger picture. Together they have shaped how she prepares cases and advises clients.

Throughout her practice she has navigated both transactional and contentious matters. She is comfortable managing negotiations and preparing litigation strategy. Colleagues describe her as someone who approaches problems methodically. Clients have relied on her steady application of legal rules and procedures to resolve their concerns.

She has maintained an active presence in Maryland’s legal community and stayed current with changes in state law. That ongoing engagement helps when statutes change or when new administrative rules affect client matters. She balances courtroom preparedness with efforts to resolve issues before trial when that path serves a client’s interests.

Outside the strict paperwork and hearings, she places importance on clear communication. She explains options in straightforward terms and lays out likely outcomes so clients can make informed choices. This practical orientation guides how she allocates time and resources on behalf of those she represents.

Today she continues to practice in Maryland, applying decades of legal training to the problems her clients bring. Her current practice focuses on matters governed by Maryland law.
