About Thomas

Thomas Horgan began his academic journey at Villanova University and completed his legal education at Creighton University School of Law. He earned his law degree at Creighton and brought a Midwestern legal education into practice in multiple jurisdictions. His schooling gave him a foundation in legal analysis and courtroom procedure that he carried into his early years as a lawyer.

After law school Horgan entered private practice and later expanded his work across state lines. He is admitted to practice in both Nebraska and New York. That dual admission has allowed him to handle matters that cross jurisdictional boundaries and to represent clients whose needs reach beyond a single state.

Over the course of his career he has worked on matters that required familiarity with local rules and differing state practices. He has managed filings in state courts and has prepared the kind of pleadings and motions that are common in civil practice. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and methodical in preparing documentation, preferring careful preparation over improvisation.

Horgan’s work has involved advising clients on procedural questions and on the practicalities of pursuing claims or defending against them across different venues. He pays attention to the logistical side of litigation — venue, service, and the interplay between state procedural rules — and to the deadlines that can determine whether a case proceeds. He also spends significant time consulting on matters before they reach court, looking to clarify options and next steps for clients.

In his day-to-day practice he combines courtroom work with client counseling. He aims to present options clearly, then to execute the chosen course with attention to detail. Other lawyers and clients have noted his clear writing and the pace at which he organizes and files required materials.

Horgan practices at Horgan Law, where he represents clients in matters requiring counsel admitted in Nebraska and New York. His current practice at Horgan Law concentrates on handling legal matters that involve representation in both Nebraska and New York.
