About Thomas G.
Thomas G. Walker built his legal foundation in classrooms and courtrooms over several decades. He earned a B.S. in Finance from Georgetown University in 1967, a J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1975 and an LL.M. in Tax from the University of Miami School of Law in 1977. Those academic credentials set the stage for a career that has spanned tax litigation, federal claims and appellate work.
Early in his career Walker gained admission to practice before multiple federal and state tribunals. He is admitted in Idaho and before the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Claims Court and the Ninth Circuit. Those admissions have informed both his courtroom approach and his advisory work. He has handled matters that require an understanding of procedural nuance as well as technical tax law.
Walker spent a significant portion of his career in private practice. In 1995 he joined Cosho Humphrey, LLP as a partner, taking on complex tax and federal litigation matters. His time there involved representing taxpayers and entities in dispute resolution and in proceedings before tax and claims tribunals. The partner role expanded his practice management duties and placed him in charge of coordinating multi-discipline legal teams on contested matters.
In 2017 Walker founded Generations Law Group, LLP. The firm reflects his interest in providing experienced counsel on tax controversies and related federal litigation. Since founding the firm he has continued to appear in federal courts and before administrative tribunals. He brings decades of courtroom experience to each matter and often advises clients on case strategy, evidentiary matters and appellate considerations.
Colleagues describe Walker as steady in high-stakes hearings and precise in drafting briefs. He has combined litigation work with advisory engagements for clients navigating tax disputes and claims against the government. He maintains memberships in professional associations and remains active in the legal community. He currently practices at Generations Law Group, LLP, handling tax controversy, federal claims and appellate matters.
