About Thaddeus
Thaddeus Furlong built a steady path through law school into a courtroom practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Los Angeles in 1986. He later completed a Juris Doctor at Georgetown University Law Center in 1992, where he concentrated on trial practice. He also holds a master’s degree from the University of Houston–Victoria.
After graduating from Georgetown, Furlong established himself in Virginia law. He is licensed by the Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. By the mid-1990s he was working as a criminal defense lawyer in Virginia. Records show he began handling DUI and other criminal cases there in 1995 and continued to build courtroom experience through steady casework.
Furlong’s education in trial advocacy shaped much of his early work. That background translated into handling contested hearings, plea negotiations and jury trials. He has represented clients on a range of criminal matters, with repeated involvement in DUI defense. His practice has required attention to both procedural rules and the tactical choices that arise in trial settings. He has also undertaken matters that intersect with federal appellate practice where matters have reached the Fourth Circuit.
He operates from FURLONG LAW OFFICES, where he manages client intake, case preparation and litigation tasks. The office handles investigation, evidence review and motion practice on behalf of people charged in state court. He works directly with clients at key stages of their cases, from arraignment through trial or resolution. In court he has focused on presenting factual and legal arguments to judges and juries.
Over time Furlong’s work has remained concentrated on criminal defense and DUI representation in Virginia courts and matters that require access to the Fourth Circuit. He continues to practice at FURLONG LAW OFFICES, providing defense representation for individuals charged with criminal offenses and driving-under-the-influence matters.
