About Teuta

Teuta Jonuzi began her legal path in Madison and has stayed close to Wisconsin courts and public defense work since. She attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison for her undergraduate degree, completing a B.A. in 2012 after beginning studies in 2008. She then enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2014 and earned her J.D. in 2017.

Her legal training included placements that exposed her to both appellate and trial practice. In 2016 she served as a legal extern at the Wisconsin Supreme Court and worked that same year as a legal intern with Federal Defender Services. Earlier, in 2015, she worked as a project assistant at the Frank J. Remington Center, a clinic known for hands-on criminal defense training. Those roles came after an initial position in the legal industry as a junior client specialist at the Dane County Title Company in 2012.

After law school she moved into private practice. In 2017 she joined Tracey Wood & Associates as an associate lawyer. That year she also became a member of the National College for DUI Defense. Her membership in the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers dates to 2017 as well. Within the National College for DUI Defense she serves on an amicus committee, a role that involves reviewing and contributing to amicus work on issues affecting DUI defense.

Her work history reflects steady exposure to criminal defense at multiple levels. The Federal Defender Services internship gave her experience in federal practice. The Remington Center work emphasized trial preparation and client advocacy. At Tracey Wood & Associates she has combined those experiences in day-to-day defense work, including representation in DUI-related matters.

Colleagues describe her as thorough and attentive in client interviews and case preparation. She balances courtroom work and research, and she has used her clinic and externship experiences to inform how she approaches investigations and motion practice. Her association memberships keep her connected to developments in DUI law and criminal procedure in Wisconsin.

She maintains an appointment-only practice through Tracey Wood & Associates. She is licensed to practice in Wisconsin and remains active in local criminal defense organizations. She currently practices at Tracey Wood & Associates, where her work concentrates on criminal defense and DUI cases.
