About Terence P. Ruf

Terence P. Ruf Jr. earned his J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law in 2002. He completed his legal education during a period when technology began to change how lawyers prepare cases. That background helped shape his early work choices.

He entered the legal workplace first in support roles. In 1998 he worked as a trial technology technician for FTI Consulting, Inc., a job that put him at the intersection of evidence, presentation, and courtroom procedure. He followed that with paralegal positions at Anderson Tobin PLLC in 1999 and at Zurich Insurance in 2001. Those roles gave him a practical sense of case management and the documentation that underpins litigation.

Ruf moved into attorney roles in the mid-2000s. He served as an associate at The Altman Lawfirm, LLC in 2005, and later as an associate at Margolis Edelstein in 2007. Those positions added hands-on experience in handling client matters, drafting pleadings, and participating in discovery and motion practice. The sequence of technical support work, paralegal experience, and attorney work provided a broad view of how cases progress from intake to resolution.

He is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. That dual admission allows him to take matters in state courts across a regional patch of jurisdictions. Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He tends to combine close attention to procedural detail with practical courtroom experience gained over several roles.

Over the years he has worked on matters that required careful preparation for hearings and trials. The earlier technical work at FTI and the paralegal posts contributed to a comfort with evidentiary exhibits, deposition files, and the logistical side of litigation. His time at law firms as an associate brought more direct client contact and responsibility for case strategy and drafting.

Today he practices law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He brings to each matter an understanding of how technology, document management, and traditional practice intersect in modern litigation. He currently concentrates his practice on litigation and related civil matters in those jurisdictions.
